Have visited the centre to check it out for a school trip. Think the children will have a great time, just hope the weather holds out as it is mainly outside. The staff I spoke to to arrange the visit were very helpful. Can't wait to see the children's reactions to the sculptures.

The displays are amazing and the afternoon teas look good, but the overall visit was disappointing.
Firstly I had emailed to check if there's a charge for just parking and using the cafe, as we wanted somewhere for the family to meet up for a get together and they replied it was free during the week.
So we met on a Tuesday and was shocked to be charged £4 each just to get in! They wouldn't even reduce the cost when I showed them the email.
The cafe menu isn't great if you haven't booked an afternoon tea, if says a meal included eggs (written plural) you only get one. The ham, eggs and chips is just thin deli ham from a supermarket - not a thick slice of ham. Unfortunately the triple cooked chips were soggy inside and they'd run out of glasses, so we had to drink from paper cups.

Booked afternoon tea and certainly not disappointed! Everything so fresh and delivered with care by such friendly staff. The return of the knife angel was a bonus for our visit. Shop full of the most amazing items at reasonable prices. Too cold for much time around sculpture park but will certainly be back in summer. Thank you to all staff who made this visit such a pleasure.

I'll be honest, I didn't expect much but how wrong was I?? The sculptures absolutely blew me away, we really enjoyed the afternoon here. It was a couple of hours drive but thought it was worth it. Turning in to the Centre you're met with the Incredible Hulk standing on a car and it's a 'oh wow' moment.....then you get to the next sculpture another 'oh wow' moment.....and again and again.
The cafe was good but very, very busy however the team in there kept it flowing, our food brought out in an acceptable time and tables cleaned straight away after somebody left. By the way....the chips gave me a 'oh wow' moment too 😁
Can't comment on price as it was free entry when we visited.

We have been going to the Iron work centre for years. We visited today and the sculptures as usual were fantastic. However, most of the fields and footpaths surrounding the sculptures have been turned into carparks and roads, we had 3 children with us and it felt unsafe at times. It's a real shame. Entry prices have also been raised considerably (£14 per adult), and you now have to pay an extra £4 on top to park your car, which should just be factored into the entry price. Quite a few children also seemed to be crying and injuring themselves in the playground. My 4 year old son also fell awkwardly as he came down the side - turns out he broke his collarbone.

Wow, what an absolute gem of an attraction! We made a 2 hour journey there this morning - leaving home at 6.30am, and it was certainly worth the early get-up.
This is a place for everybody, whether you are 7 or 77, there will be something to amaze you. We were very lucky with the weather but even in the rain (coat and wellies recommended), you won’t be disappointed.
It’s great to see an attraction striving to add new things and this is another reason that you can visit time and time again.
We ate in the cafe and the food was super fresh, super tasty and the cake selection was amazing (The afternoon tea looked unbelievable, but this definitely needs booking quite a bit in advance).
Every member of staff we came across, was so nice, helpful and it was great to see them all smiling.
I highly recommend visiting (keep an eye on their website for any special events too). We can’t wait to visit again soon and as I found it impossible to pass through the shop without buying a few things, I’m now on a big save to buy more on my next visit!

Don't be fooled by the early bird prices. Long queues to get on the car park and Queues for 15 mins at the reception to be told the cheaper prices ended 2 mins ago. Purposefully taking people longer to get through to double the cost.

We had a really good day! The afternoon tea was a show stopper with amazing quality and value for money! The park itself is eye opening and we loved everything about it! The cafe was busy but nothing was too much trouble!

Overall fabulous experience, enjoyed every moment of my visit. Epic sculptures and fantastic displays for all ages to adore. Very creative and well thought through and love how it helps the environment by using scrapped metal which is a bonus. Lovely quaint/ cafe, delicious foods/drinks and great atmosphere. Beautiful shop with loads of goodies to buy either as gifts or for yourself. Would definitely recommend.

I recently contacted the Ironworks in regards to making a booking for my class of SEN children. The customer service and communication has been incredible and they have done everything they possibly can to accommodate our needs for the trip. Unfortunately not as dog friendly as suggested. Not allowed near the cafe, not even to look whats on the menu. The 'dog friendly' eating area was cold, dirty and very unattractive. Not allowed into the shopping ares as "they're carpeted". So we took our money elsewhere!

Had a delicious breakfast this morning, atmosphere so comfortable we stayed & had another coffee! Sammy (red hair!) is an amazing credit to the already great team. You can't help but find something to buy in the shop either, ladies on the till so friendly too. So happy to live close, may just have to make it a weekly visit!

Absolutely amazing place to visit with the family..its a free entry venue to all members, with very helpful and polite staff .. the cafe has the best selection of freshly made food and desserts .. highly recommended day out.

Highly recommend visiting British Ironworks, It is great for all ages. There is plenty to do for children from walking around the trails to the playgrounds to seeing all the magnificent sculptures. The food is very tasty and they are very accomodating for babys too. I like that it is dog friendly too and enjoy walking around the trails.

Great experience, so professional. From initial phone call and booking the afternoon tea right through to actual being led to table and the excellent service.
Don't expect to eat everything because you get fed very very well.
Will definitely rebook.

Treated my wife to the bougie afternoon tea.
It came out with a sparkler and lots of fresh sandwiches, cakes , chips, a sausage roll and soup.
They even box up what you dont manage to eat to bring home.
Staff were friendly and welcoming.
I would highly recommend.

Took the kids for an afternoon out looking at the fantastic sculptures, my lad is amazed by them..we then stopped for ice cream and cake for the adults In the tea room. It's such a lovely day out. Staff are all so friendly and polite.

Driven past many times over the years but never visited until today. We took our dogs with us and had a fantastic time. The sculptures are amazing and the staff on reception and in the cafe were nice too. Well worth a visit and children I’m sure would love it. Great place.

Travelled all the way from Manchester to be told they're turning people away because they're too busy. There were loads of parking spaces available. Really not impressed and we had our five year old with us, who was very upset! All this way for nothing. Won't be back. Not recommended.

Drove past and called in to see what it was. It looks sooooooo very good! Definitely going back to have a look around properly. If the shop is anything to go by it's definitely worth a day trip out there. Something interesting wherever you look.
